An adventure Went Right!

Well, last sunday I was on an adventure. An adventure to test myself, to push the limits and to #Travel and #Explore.

Journey started from my Hometown at 4AM. I had to caught the first bus to Nizampur, near Mangaon in Maharashtra. Luckily I got the seat in bus and I just slept as it was early in the morning. But not much long as the beautiful “Tamhini Ghat” arrived with the dawn. Light showers were on! It was quite shivering & The road was lost in the Clouds. I was fortunate to see the whole view as I was on the first seat and was able to see everything. The skills of that Bus Driver was impressing. At one point visibility was hardly 20 Meters that too in one of difficult Ghats in Sahyadri Mountain Range and he was driving like it was Sunny weather. Such a pro.

The schedule was heavy and filled with 2 Adventurous Treks to the mountains of Western Ghats. One was “Mangad fort” & second was “Ghera Surgad fort” I landed to Nizampur and started a small 6 kms journey to the base of our first trek!

“Mangad Fort”

The fort was quite small in size. It took hardly 20 mins to reach on the top. The trek route went through the jungle! It was humid. And I think those clouds of Tamhini were just following me.

Clouds and Valley!

Basically Mangad is 215 Meters high from Sea Level and Situated in Raigad district of Maharashtra.

The first summit of the day boosted my energy and everything was going right.

Coming to Life…!

This tree without a single leaf on it! As Monsoon will arrive, it will regain its beauty with leafs.

Nothing much to do on Mangad except some historical information we needed to collect. It did not took much time to complete the work. We descended the fort and I started to look forward for the second adventure of the day.

The second trail was 40 kms. Northward. We took NH66 Mumbai – Goa highway to reach the base of Ghera Surgad! Another one fort situated in Raigad District.

As we touched the Highway we were welcomed by Really Heavy Showers. Fortuantely those were the first showers of #Monsoon2016! Yes, the most awaited Monsoon was arrived to light up our lives with beauty and happiness!!!

later that day Meterology Department confirmed the onset of Monsoon over the region. Well my prediction waas right!

Rain Rain Go away!!!

We were running behind the schedule by half hour. After Sometime rain took a little rest. (I think he was tired and went for a nap) finally we reached to the base of Ghera Surgad.

“Ghera Surgad Fort”

Standing Tall…! The Ghera Surgad from it’s base!!!

This fort was way big than Mangad and 100 meters taller too. As we started the hike, we were welcomed by Jungle! ( This time it was Dense ). As the jungle patch was over, we saw a huge steep massive rocky patch! That black basalt, standing strong against the eroding power of that Sea Winds coming from Arabian Sea…That was breath taking.

As the toughest part approached, the nap of Rain was completed too. And on the steepest path we were facing Thundershowers.

It was getting tougher with each moment. Showers lowered the visibility! One wrong step and that massive rocky patch was ready to with it’s hammer like toughness. It was damn slippery! Finally after putting every footstep with care and facing intense Showers, we reached the entry point of Fort. Fewww! A sigh of relief and happiness of achieving something!!!

The steep Patch before the Entry Point…!

We explored the southern part first. And the first view of the valley just blown our Mind.

The Diamond Necklace Point…!

Next as we head towards the summit of the fort, the showers got more heavier and this was the first time I was actually experiencing the clouds. We all were lost in the clouds. Visibility was like 10 meters approx. First time I was actually  standing on the clouds.

Standing On the Clouds…! Behind me the valley, totally covered with Clouds!!!

I was thrilled!!! Rains were unstoppable. The Varun Raja was so happy with us, that he showered his all blesaings on us in few hours!!!  Due to such heavy blessings, it became difficult to take out the camera.

The Ancient Remains trying to hide behind Clouds…!

The clouds were also there to visit the fort. And having their company while exploring the fort was awesome. And guess what the new friendship with them worked perfectly.

We were running behind the schedule! I was feeling hungry and thirsty.

Suddenly in all this Nature Madness we came to know we are out of Water and Food. Now we had to descend 300 meters that too from a steep cliff and dense forest afterwards. And Rains were there to make it more challenging! With such unfavourable conditions we started our descend. Rains made that rocky patch more slippery than it was while ascending the fort. I was saved twice by my friends.

We rule the Mountains…! The Cloud King…!

So with no food and water we were descending one of the challenging mountain in western ghat. Finally after 50 mins of non stop descend we came to the base of the fort. And one of the villager welcomed us with water and boiled Nuts. And finally the adventure of the day ended on a happy note with a lot of memories. Later on we went to Mumbai through NH66 & NH4.
It was indeed tougher.

“Nature is the most beutiful. Nothing in this
world can match it’s beauty.”

Zoom into the map for better view!!!

Travel Stats for the day:
Total Travel: 340 Kms.
By Road (Car and Bus): 284 Kms.
By Suburban Trains (Mumbai Locals): 52 Kms.

Total Treking and Walking: Around 8 kms.
Total climb: 2 Mountains

Finally I got a chance to experience the first Spell of #Monsoon2016 and these showers and Ruggade terrain of Western Ghats tested my ability! It was great. One of the most Beautiful and adventure filled day of my life.
#Unforgettable

This day and these adventures taught me how to remain tough in an unfavourable condition! We Humans are nothing in front of the #Nature. wether it’s power or beauty, nothing will ever beat Nature!!!

Go on an #Adventure to Find Yourself!!!

I love the photo of the curved tree, it is much like your adventure itself, one entry point that branches to many others. It was a sturdy, weathered tree. And I admire your sense of adventure, it looked like a great damp climbing day!
